Hello dear readers and followers.
It’s been challenging to put this into words because it means acknowledging a new reality that is radically different to what was expected. It is with sadness, joy and envy that I must inform you all that Hubert took the next step in the Journey of Life on Saturday June 29 2024.
The sadness is for those of us who wanted to spend more time with this magnificent person, to benefit from his wisdom and thirst for knowledge, to be able to spend hours in respectful and wild debates about the physical or the metaphysical, the mental and the spiritual. Hubert’s thirst of knowledge and understanding of this world that we inhabit was only matched by his thirst for the company of others, to be able to share this world in wonder.
The joy is that Hubert has taken the next step in his personal journey of life. His philosophies of life can be found in his writings, both on the blog, and the e-books he wrote, and in these tomes you will find a rich and beautiful view of the world in which we live, and his perspectives on our place in it, including the stages of life. Hubert was not one to shy away from his responsibilities to others, and he knew that one day this step was coming. Through his nature and approach to life he prepared those of us he managed to touch in life well for when he would take this step. This preparation does not lessen our sadness, but it has filled out hearts with joy that he is continuing his journey.
The envy, is that Hubert has beaten us to this next step, that he now has the answers to those questions that would get raised in those wonderful debates about the journey of life. Hubert would not judge us for this envy, for we will all get those answers eventually, but Hubert also knew what it was to be human, to want those answers and for them to be locked away until we can join him.
We are all going to miss Hubert’s physical presence, but he has not left us entirely. His legacy will live on through his family, friends and students, together with his thoughts and writings.
I personally will always be forever thankful that Hubert had the foresight to put his philosophy of life into written form so that we could all benefit from his wisdom.
