RIDING A NATURAL HIGH

Travelling with my wife through the Canadian Rocky Mountains by hire car, enchanted by the local people’s friendliness, though confused by the traffic rules to put it mildly, we find the scenery proves to be true to the saying ‘out of this world’, a misphrased metaphor actually meaning ‘the best of this world’ or ‘almost too good to be true’. Nature’s breath taking beauty helps me breathe easy and makes me think, ‘why would anyone want to take drugs to escape a beautiful world like this and miss out on a thrill of a natural high’. Whether or not we live or ravel in an amazing place like the Rockies, no matter where we dwell or just pause, it is the human mind’s perception that makes a place appear beautiful or ugly. I see masses of tourists take photos and run and I wonder do they perceive? Then we board our car and continue to enjoy our journey to the tune of Jon Denver’s song ‘Rocky Mountain High’.
